The Dada Movement

Listening to The Dada Movement feels like wearing a tank top and shorts on a sunny day, with a cool beer in one hand, and a smoking pistol in the other…

The Dada Movement are a band like no other, resuscitating an almost fading era of music with a fresh perspective. Almost like they’ve transcended time; they’re the whole 60s package. The look, the sound and the nonchalant do-what-we-want-attitude

When it comes to their playing, there’s not many bands that gel together as well as The Dada Movement. Every part being played has its purpose and serves the music. With lots of current bands seemingly trying to outdo each other on who can play the craziest, most dissonant song, it’s refreshing to see a band playing great tunes with classic melodies that oblige you to dance

Song writing seems to be at the core of the band. No extra tricks or thrills, optical illusions or mirages, and certainly no pedal boards to hide behind, just straight up well crafted pop songs. One thing that stuck out to me was when they played at our Far From night at the Avalon Café, is that they have no pedals at all. A minimalist approach, staying true to the sound of the instrument and not trying to sugar-coat their sound. The Dadas keep it raw and real

The harmony of the three vocalists over the jangly guitars sits perfectly. They’re not perfect singers, but their delivery, debauchery, dedication to the tunes, deliberate disfunction and drop dead sexiness will be sure to get your hips moving
