Abi Turner

In a world where everyone is a photographer on Instagram, it can be hard to see the diamonds in the rough. However, Abi Turner’s work shines through the saturated scene. Through honest depictions of friends and excursions, as well as tastefully set up fashion style reportage, Abi’s work communicates more than just clothes and fun times with mates

‘I’m not sure how I would describe my work. I’ve always been extremely curious about people and their own personal stories, especially those of total strangers. Recently I’ve found a lot of joy in collaborating with people I’ve only just met and sort of getting to know them through the camera lens’

Abi is currently working on a ‘Blue Sundays’ series of photographs and videos, surrounding themes of disconnect and memory. Typically shooting in digital, Abi is branching out into film this time, confronting the challenges the medium will bring head on

Two prints of Abi’s were presented at our art, fashion and music night at the Avalon Café (23/11/23). She was the only photographer showcasing work on the evening, and we think it’s fair to say she represented the medium the best we could’ve hoped for. As her work, life, friends and collaborators progress it will be a pleasure to watch her journey flourish further
