Morning Wood

Morning Wood are at the forefront of indie rock in the London scene. Taking sounds of the 90s and 2000s and progressing their into the new era of great indie hits. Following on from great British bands such as Supergrass and Stereophonics, they’re certain to put themselves up on the same level as the big names such as Wunderhorse and Fontaines DC in years to come if they can keep up their momentum

Don’t let the “indie” description misguide you, Morning Wood are heavy hitters. Their melodic guitar lines sit above crunching guitars and driving drum grooves by new member Roy Lowe, and Josh’s raspy vocals add a touch of grit that keeps the music from becoming irritatingly glossy

At our show down at the Avalon Café on the 23rd of November this year, they kicked things of, setting the night up for success. We have attended a few Morning Wood shows ourselves so were not surprised by their fierce wall of sound, energy, sweat, and fans. Their energy was tangible and the chemistry between the band seemed brotherly. A graceful performance to watch and experience, I think it’s fair to say that we’ll be welcoming them back to a Far From one day soon…

After going through some turbulence, they seem to have settled with a concrete line-up, bringing back long serving bassist Sergio, and new drummer, Roy Lowe, who lends his hand to a few bands on the scene. We were delighted to learn in the interview we conducted on the day of the show, that they are planning on giving the fans what they want and announcing their debut single very soon. As long as they can stay in one piece we can safely say that Morning Wood will be on the up, and we’re excited to see where they might go
